Enjoy performing arts and more in Japan.

Tokyo Jardin actually stands for Tokyo Côté Jardin. In French, Côté Jardin designates the left side of the scene, as seen by the spectator.
This expression was used by the actors of the Comédie Française, one of Paris oldest theaters, which was located between the Tuileries garden, and the Louvres palace. The initial pages of Oriza Hirata’s play, The kings of adventure, highlight the disposition of the stage.
This media focuses on the diversity of Tokyo stages, theater as well as dance from ballet to contemporary, circus, and of course Japanese performing arts.
We target to highlight great spectacles available to foreigners, even if they do not speak Japanese. In our blog, we will recommend new plays, performances hopefully enjoyable to all, for you to enjoy Tokyo cultural life and beyond.
In our quarterly list, we present an interactive list of recommended shows in the current and next quarters.
Various pages provide information on the various theaters, festivals, and historic perspectives. Just flip through and try.

This is a great website, comprehensive and useful. I’d like to send you information about an upcoming performance by Hiroshi Koike (contemporary theatre) for your reviewing. I tried the email on the website but it bounced back.
Thank you so much for your question. If you feel you have a performance which matches TokyoJardin line and spirit, feel free to share, we will review and if it appeals to us and fits well with the site, we will share further.
I’ve just discovered your wonderful site.
I’d like to ask how I might go about having our performance information featured here.
